Officers, workers give time to help students learn how to read
I love it when the news media chooses to share stories like this one posted on KSL today: http://www.ksl.com/?sid=29244555&nid=148&fm=latest_videos
There are so many good things happening in the world, and it's nice when the news takes time to let us know about them. Our TEAM Mentoring program is excited to get involved with the Prosperity 2020 movement, and I'm sure that many of our partner organizations will benefit from this renewed focus on businesses getting involved to help our students achieve their full potential.
My challenge for you is to Join the Movement!! Choose a school, an organization, a cause that has meaning to you, and do something to help them fulfill their mission. Business owners, police officers, elected officials, community leaders . . . whoever you are, YOU have the ability to be the difference for a youth.
This is a great time to get involved! April 11-13 is Global Youth Service Days, and the whole month of April is Global Youth Traffic Safety Month. Each of the 3 local high schools will be planning safe driving activities at their schools to celebrate these 2 events. Let me know if you want to get involved and I can point you in the right direction. If it's something else you want to throw your energy into, go for it! The volunteer website is there to help you find opportunities (www.cachevolunteercenter.org). You can also just look around and see what needs to be done in your own neighborhood. The time to act is NOW!
