42nd Annual Pow Wow "Echoing Traditional Ways"


Members of the USU Native American Student Council (NASC) are proud to announce the 42nd Annual Pow Wow "Echoign Traditional Ways" on February 27th and 28th at the USU Nelson Fieldhouse, 700 North 800 East, Logan, Utah.

Volunteers are needed. Come help us celebrate spring and the new beginning of life. The Pow Wow preserves a deep, lasting sense of family, pride and tradition. Behind the display of dance, music and vibrant regalia are sacred legends and meanings.

Volunteer duties include:

√ Admissions - tallying patrons, hand stamps, greeting spectators
√ Concessions- handling food (hot dogs, nachos, drinks, etc.)
√ Taco Stand- hadnlgin toppings for Indian Tacos (fry bread, chili, lettuce, tomato, cheese, etc.)
√ Dancer registration- registering dancers an dfiling into various categories
√ Maintenance- keeping kids off sports equipment, tidyin restrooms, ensuring toilet paper is fully stocked, etc.

2nd Annual Youth Leadership Summit Coming Up!!


On Saturday February 28th, The Cache Valley Volunteer Center together with a team of Utah State University business management students will be hosting the 2nd Annual Volunteer Center Youth Leadership Summit. We’re very excited for this event! It will be a full day conference held on campus at USU for the high school students of Cache Valley. There will be prizes, free lunch, Interactive workshops, a potential service project, and a couple of choice speakers. The conference is being designed to help budding high school students develop skills in various areas of leadership, and is free for all local students who would like to sign up.

The speakers for the conference will be Staff Sergeant Russell Madsen of the US Army and award winning teacher and researcher of the year Dr. Ben Blau, a finance professor at the Huntsman School of Business at USU. We are excited to hear the unique perspectives that both these qualified individuals can offer regarding leadership. 

The workshops will be interactive and focused on teamwork skills, communication, and other principles of leadership. One of the workshops will be given by Jennifer and Andy Jones of Be The True U, Inc. Their topic will be discovering one's true identity and the power within, Jennifer Jones is an award winning author and a seasoned self help guide. These workshops should be educational and enjoyable for all who attend.
